Volume-App FAQ’s
Is existing material thickness accounted for?
Yes. Volume calculates internal volume by subtracting your specified material thickness from the external dimensions. You can also override thickness for specific panels (like the front baffle) in the Pro version.
How accurate is the visualizer?
The 3D visualizer renders a geographically accurate model based on your input dimensions. While it is perfect for planning layout and proportions, always double-check your final cut list measurements before cutting wood.
Do I need to pay to use it?
The core calculator is free forever. We offer a 'Pro' tier for advanced builders who need features like detailed displacement controls, PDF exports, and unlimited saved projects.
Id like to cancel my Volume-App subscription, how can I do this?
Easy, Navigate to the login button (little man in a circle) click and your account settings will load, select ‘manage billing’ The Stripe account portal will load, you can then select ‘Cancel Subscription’ in the top right. You will still have access to your Pro subscription until that months billing period expires upon which you’ll be downgraded to free plan.
Is my login data and payment information safe?
Absolutely! We’ve partnered with Clerk for all authentication security and we’ve partnered with Stripe to handle payments, both offer a secure environment so you can be rest assured your data is safe. Please see our partners Ts & C’s for comprehensive details.
I have suggestions or Im not satisfied with Volume-App, what can I do?
Reach out to us, use the ‘Feedback’ button. We are a small team of two people, we’re enthusiasts and DIY builders ourselves and we’ll do our best to address your queries promptly, although we both have full time jobs, we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. New feature requests may be slower to develop however.
Will Volume-App have a database of drivers containing manufacturers data, Or will Volume-App include a winISD type simulation tool at any point?
Unfortunately we haven’t got the resources to engineer these features, winISD is a great tool and we encourage new builders to give it a go, download at: https://www.linearteam.org/ Similarly, a database of drivers can be found at https://loudspeakerdatabase.com. Unfortunately the driver databases in both of these are somewhat out of date, but manufacturers data will be readily available from your preferred DIY audio storefront, you can then add drivers to winISD for simulation. We’re not affiliated with either site.
I'm new to Acoustics and loudspeaker design, are there any learning resources you recommend?
Absolutely, Theres a wealth of information, forums and sites dedicated to this subject, https://www.diyaudio.com/community/ is a great resource and has a Forum for almost every aspect of DIY loudspeaker design. We can personally recommend Marius Tanasescu’s learning courses, they’re extremely well presented and can be found at https://audiojudgement.com/courses.html. We’re not affiliated with either, just sharing the love.
