From Simulation to Reality

Designing a great loudspeaker requires two distinct phases: finding the optimal acoustic volume, and then engineering the physical box to fit your life. Volume-App helps you bridge the two.

Most DIY builders start with WinISD. It's a popular tool for calculating the optimum volume of an enclosure and achieve a desired frequency response based on the TS parameters of the drivers they plan to use. There are other methods and software that can be used to derive these figures too.

The Physical Build (Volume App)

Once WinISD or similar calculates that target volume, the challenge becomes a practical consideration. How will that volume fit into a room, car, or a home cinema? This is where Volume-App can help.

Constraint-Based Dimension Solving

Every room has size constraints. Volume-App can lock two dimensions (e.g. a specific width/height for a bookshelf or depth for a shallow wall-mount) and then Volume-App instantly calculates the third dimension required to keep the internal volume perfect.

Architectural Flexibility

Whether chasing the Golden Ratio, building a Tall & Thin floorstander, or a symmetrical MTM array, the app maintains the acoustic integrity whilst the user experiments with the form factor.

Precision Layout & Construction Logic

Volume App doesn't just calculate volume; it understands how a box is actually put together.

Intelligent Panel Alignment

Choose the preferred construction method with a click. Whether preferring inset panels, or on-top (overlay) panels for easier assembly, Volume-App recalculates every panel dimension to ensure the internal volume remains exactly as intended.

Custom Material Thickness

Easily define the overall material thickness (e.g., 18mm MDF or 3/4" Plywood) but perhaps also specify a thicker material for the baffle to increase structural rigidity and reduce resonance.

Advanced Baffle Design

Specify driver numbers, hole-cutting diameters, and exact placements on a 2D panel representation that updates our 3D Visualizer in real-time.

Port & Driver Displacement

Visualise port placement to avoid internal collisions and use our Dedicated Driver Displacement Calculator to factor in the physical volume of the woofer motor and basket for best accuracy.

Metric & Imperial Support

Work in the units preferred. Whether cutting in millimeters, or inches, Volume App instantly converts all dimensions without sacrificing precision.

PDF Export & Blueprints

When ready to build, export a professional PDF Cut List. Providing a clean, printable blueprint of every panel, ensuring the woodworking is as precise as your acoustic simulation.

Save & Load Designs

Save designs to a profile to make iterations later or to keep a library of favorite builds.
